Sub-floor Preparation is a key part of successful wood floor
fitting. Starting with an assessment;
Is
there damp present? First thing we would check is the moisture
content of the sub-floor with a damp meter, if excessive moisture is
found Shropshire Oak would then proceed to to find the source and
then either fix it or install a damp-proof membrane.
Is
the sub-floor flat? I use the word flat because levelness has little
significance when fitting a hardwood floor but it does need to be
flat. If it's not we would alter joists or perhaps use a self
levelling compound to achieve an adequate surface.

If it's unfinished flooring, Shropshire Oak floor fitters
will sand your wooden floor and apply an appropriate floor finish lacquer
or Hard wax oil including a dye if required to attain a desired
colour.
Doors will be altered and refitted when
necessary, appropriate door thresholds will be made and fitted.
Skirting board replaced painted if required, floor and work place
left clean and tidy.
